We have represented most major oil and gas companies, many independent producers, small exploration companies and many landowners. Our experience extends ranges from Federal Oil and Gas Exploration Units, to coal bed methane communization agreements, to single lease transactions. We have also served as court appointed Oil and Gas Counsel in Bankruptcy Proceedings for development corporations undergoing reorganization proceedings. Oil and Gas Surface Use Agreements, Fracking Issues, Seismic Agreements, and Horizontal Well Attorneys Jouard & Pickering has represented both producers and landowners in negotiating oil and gas surface use agreements, surface water, groundwater and aquifer protection, seismic agreements, coal bed methane leases, and horizontal fracking well issues. Our experience extends to all producing areas in Wyoming and most in Colorado. Southeastern Wyoming, including Laramie/Platte/Goshen County (Cheyenne) and Northeastern Colorado, including in Larimer/Weld County (Fort Collins/Greeley) Attorneys. Oil and Gas leasing is complicated and can affect families and their children for years. Many counties in Wyoming (Platte, Goshen, Laramie, Niobrara) and in Colorado (Weld and Larimer) have seen a recent explosion of leasing activities for horizontal wells in the Niobrara formation. Horizontal wells leases involves specialized issues which do not exit in typical vertical wells. Chief among the concerns for both the oil and gas company and the landowner are those involving lease access, surface use, use of water, protection of surface, groundwater resources, and water aquifers, and disposal of frac and drilling fluids. Other concerns involve consideration of the size of leases, limiting the lease term, restriction of formation use, royalties and rentals, mandatory drilling commitments, and protection from environmental and other legal liability. We have recently negotiated several Niobrara formation horizontal well leases and complicated Surface Use Agreements in Southeastern Wyoming, Northeastern Colorado. If you have oil and gas issues in Cheyenne, Torrington, Wheatland, Douglas, Fort Collins or Greeley, call Jouard & Pickering and we will help you understand and manage these issues successfully.
